Food from Rajasthan, good drinks, and an altogether good hang.

Chit Chaat is the new spot on Sukhumvit Soi 24 that’s making Indian food fun again
25 November, 2025 Bangkok time

Chit Chaat is hitting the ground running with a signature vibe—a little nightlife, a little dining, a lot of style. They’re taking the Indian restaurant formula and making it cooler, younger, and more fun.

Bangkok has some of the best Indian food in mainland Southeast Asia (yes, we see you Malaysia, and we’re not scared of you), but, truth be told, at a certain price point, it can be a bit same-samey when it comes to atmosphere. Chit Chaat, if nothing else, is different.

First off, just have to say, they’ve got some really fun marketing. This spot is going for a modern style that’s just different—but still very rooted in Punjabi food. Replacing the old Patiala Peg on Sukhumvit Soi 24, the space is lighted with a mix of overheads and neons, with little touches Indian style on the walls. The previously fairly unused outdoor area is now kind of a party space, dimly lit and stylish.

If you already missed the pun, chaat (street snacks) are central to the theme. Chef Narayan Bahadur Panthi is in the kitchen here, putting out the likes of tuna pani puri and shiso chaat, but some more creative treats in the form of Rajasthani red meat curry tacos and the chef’s signature naan rolls. This is a big crowd pleaser—because who doesn’t like butter chicken—with smoked duck or Baadsha lamb leg.

If you don’t know what Rajasthani food is, chances are, it’s already your favorite. Bangkok Indian food aficionados will know Chef Narayan Bahadur Panthi from eight years at Charcoal, and, yes, they’ll have your favorites, including Goan chicken vindaloo and Kashmiri rogan josh, along with some fun classic desserts like ghevar and mango kulfi.

Now, we mentioned before that this is a nightlife spot as well as a restaurant, and they mean it. They’ve got a lovely little DJ deck in the middle of the room and a line of Indian cocktails (heavy on the Indian flavor). From the Tiffin Box to the Chaiwala, you can expect some pretty fun drink combinations here—and not just the overly-sweet, spirit forward drinks you’d expect.
