We dropped by the flagship PUTIEN (127 Kitchener Rd., 6295-6358), and had a taste of the light and healthy, yet flavorful cuisine. Start your meal with the yummy stir-fried yam ($10/$15), and then delight in the fragrant taste of the bamboo herbal prawn ($3.80 per piece) that comes with a homemade, rich yet strangely-subtle broth. Also providing much enjoyment are the Pu Tien sweet and sour pork with lychees ($10/$15) and crispy, fresh deep-fried squirrel fish with gravy ($32). Bee hoon lovers will surely dig the delicate taste of the fried “Hing Hwa” bee hoon ($6/$12) that comprises 10 different ingredients like fresh clams, seaweed and peanuts.
