As an homage to celebrity chef Ken Hom, Maison Chin’s (Bandara Suites Silom, 75/1 Soi Saladaeng, Silom Rd., 02-266-0505. Open daily 11:30am-2pm, 6-11pm. BTS Saladaeng, MRT Silom) new tasting menu (B1,800 net) allows you to sample a variety of modern Asian specialties. Kick things off with a platter of bite-sized black pepper wagyu beef carpaccio, veal cheek ravioli, seared Hokkaido scallop, panfried foie gras and an oyster shot in Bloody Mary. Other creations include crab, prawn and coriander ravioli in Chinese herbal broth and grilled spicy saffron calamari with pomelo salad. End the meal on a sweet, if slightly tipsy note, with a pyramid of fresh fruit in Champagne jelly and mint syrup.
