The buzz: A mixed after-work and uni crowd comes to this peaceful moo ban for its cute bar with an ultra-chilled hangout. Run by the same people as Lollipop (formerly Lullabar), this place benefits from the same friendly vibe and the rare selection of music sits well with its semi-indie crowds.
The décor: Winnie the Pooh would love this renovated two-story house licked in an eye-pleasing blue and pink color scheme with a cute pebble garden where couples can canoodle to the cheery tunes of Nouvelle Vague. The bar and the stage are inside (aircon, yeah!). The second story Japanese-style seating area comes with colorful floor cushions, a memorabilia display and a TV set (guests are welcome to bring their own DVDs or PlayStation games).
The music: Indie bands roll out unique covers, easy listening, acoustic jazz and oldies nightly from 9pm onwards.
The crowd: University students and paper pushers from the nearby Ministry of Finance.
The price: Cocktails B130-180, beer B140, whisky B200 and mixers B25. Thai fare from the usual gaab glaem to full-on favorites like tom saab and poh taak naam sai start from B99.
