It’s official. Rolling Loud Thailand is not happening in 2025. After months of silence, the festival posted a photo on Facebook of last year’s festival at 4am ITC, and by 11am, the organizer dropped the bomb.

A source close to the festival told BK that the reason for the cancellation was due to issues from partner More Return PLC.

“It’s no secret that More Return has been having its issues and, unfortunately, some of those things ended up spilling over onto the festival. This is never the outcome Rolling Loud wanted in Thailand. Its presence in Asia is monumental for hip-hop and they know how disappointing it is for fans that this year will not proceed. The team is actively working on their return to Asia in 2026 and exploring lots of location options,” the unnamed source told BK by phone the morning of the announcement.

More Return, the festival partner, has been the topic of damning fraud allegations, many of which have recently come to light. In August, the Stock Exchange of Thailand and Anti-Money Laundering Office ordered prosecution of More Return and the seizing of assets. The group was accused of highly complex securities trading crimes, and, according to Commander of the Central Investigation Bureau, has resulted in the seizing of B4.5 billion in assets and the prosecution of 42 people.

“Due to circumstances out of our control, we are unable to proceed with Rolling Loud Thailand 2025 this November,” the announcement read, making no mention of More Return.

This announcement follows months of speculation and anger from fans that the headliners for the festival, which was originally set to take place in just 45 days, were not announced. Previous years saw headliners announced more than five months prior to the festival date. Fans were not happy.

The festival’s social media has been completely silent since July. The photo posted on Facebook last night was met with suspicion and disbelief. “Drop the f*cking lineup or announce it cancelled,” one user wrote. “It’s happening!? I still have my ticket,” wrote another.

This would have been the third Rolling Loud Thailand, both of which were qualified successes and a huge boon for hip-hop lovers in Bangkok. At the moment, there will be no Rolling Loud in Asia in 2025, but they are actively looking for new locations in the region. The unnamed source close to the festival specified that Thailand will still be considered for future Rolling Loud events.

While the future of a Rolling Loud in Asia is uncertain at this time, there’s no denying that the biggest hip-hop festival in Asia getting cancelled due to broad seizure of assets and mass arrests is, well, pretty gangster.
