It may not be the most glamorous of venues, but Mandala Fine Art Studio, located at an industrial building in Kallang, is one of the promising new art galleries in town.

Its permanent collection includes works by emerging artists from Asia and Europe, but one of its strongest collections include new works by up-and-coming contemporary Sri Lankan artists, which will get a showing at the upcoming group show Transition, opening Jun 18. Some of the more outstanding works include Gayan Prageeth's surrealistic paintings and Pramith Geekiyanage's collage-inspired canvas works, both of which draw their influences from Sri Lankan mythologies and pop culture. Prices are afforable too, with works starting from $800. There will also be lots of other sculptural pieces to check out too while you're there, so it won't be a wasted trip.
