15 things to bring you up to speed before the final season of Hormones The Series

1. Back in 2013, when the series initially aired, there were rumors that it was going to get banned for being too “explicit”

Oh puh-lease, have you actually watched Skins?

Yeah, we kind of ripped that one off pretty well... 

 

2. It had everything a series needed to be a hit nationwide, though: 

The resident bad boy heartthrob and the perfect golden girl  

That guy in a band trying to win Hot Wave 

That troubled boy in a gang

The promiscuous girl who turns out to be really nice

That girl who all the other girls hate 

The innocent, fan-fiction writer  

 

3. Set in the fictional Nadao High School, the series touched upon supposedly realistic, heavy stuff throughout the first two seasons:

Like the drugs and parties 

Underaged sex 

Violence

Lots of family drama 

Stalkers 

Sexual abuse 

Abortion 

Big Mountain 

And generally just getting away from it all 

 

4. It taught us that nice guys finish last 

Awww poor Mhog :( 

But don't tell us you didn't see the Win-Kwan pair coming

 

5. We learnt that boys in gangs are often just severely misunderstood  

And we 'shipped' them. We 'shipped' them hard. 

 

6. We waited for ages for Toei to realise that Pooh is just... not that into her 

And that the dorky guitarist had always been the one all along 

Despite all the cringe-worthy things he did along the way 

Let's face it--we've all been there. 

 

7. We saw even more sexual tension/confusion develop over the years

Did you not help but sob when they broke up? 

Good news: seems they might get back together this season #lovewins

Oh and this...  

Turns out dads have feelings too

 

8. These guys didn't seem very important last season 

Although we gotta admit--girl got game 

But who knew they'd be running the show now? 

Did you know they had a nationwide search for the new cast and all? 

 

9. Sometimes it's easy to forget who a character is 

And then the rebel returns... as a rebel, of course.

 

10. There's no forgetting the identity theft drama, though 

And it looks like the grudge continues into the new season. 

 

11. It's a bit sad that the original cast have all gone their separate ways...

 

12. And the catchy original soundtrack is no more 

 

13. But don't worry. No doubt they'll be back as special guests for some episodes. 

 

14. It's annoying that the new poster looks like a sequel in the ThirTEENTerror series 

 

15. But will we still follow the show anyway? 

Most likely, yes. Come on, this isn't Gossip Girl.
