BANGKOK VENUE

Hazzys

Buzz: Korean fashion brand Hazzys opened their first two stores in Bangkok to welcome in the New Year. The brand is known for its casual wear inspired by posh British universities and time on the golf course.

Décor: For that retro emporium vibe, all the items are displayed on wooden tables, floor-to-ceiling shelves and steel hangers. It’s all very loose, earthy and nostalgic—so British!

Goods: The first collection to hit Bangkok is inspired by the 1981 film Chariots of Fire and aims to evoke Cambridge in the 1920s. Men’s items include striped and checked shirts and tees, all of it in black and white (shirts start from B4,590 and T-shirts from B2,490). The girls’ collection is similar, if a little bit more varied thanks to touches of dark blue, maroon and deep green (shirts start from B4,990 and T-shirts from B3,990). Of course, nothing says England like clothes designed for rotten weather, but we’re not sure the preppy cardigans and coats will get much use in this town (from B9,290). Accessories like faux leather cross body bags, and tote bags start from B4,990 and wallets from B3,990.

Why you’ll come back: It really takes an Asian brand to devote itself so slavishly to stuff worn at old universities. Think of it as Korea’s Brit-answer to Thailand’s New England-inspired Royal Ivy Regatta.
