Description
The Holiday Inn Silom has been standing on the strip for ages and the only time we mention it is to talk about their Indian restaurant. We recently heard about their renovation and assumed it would be just the typical thing that hotels regularly do. Fortunately, one day we dropped in to Holiday Inn Silom by accident when nature called and we were very, very surprised that it has changed 150% from its old look to a brand new and trendy façade. Forget all that old, unadventurous, uncle-friendly environment and welcome to the new chic look of the hotel. We checked out Hari’s Bar and it is now in a lot more stylish and good looking place than before with a long bar on the right hand side and chic décor with a little retro touch. Comfy sofas and puffy seats with low tables adorn throughout. At the end of the hall, you will find a small, low stage where three Abba-like female singers croon soft and easy listening tunes (mainly pop and golden age jazz music). The floor-to-ceiling window gives you a view of the chaotic traffic on the strip. Chilling in the casual atmosphere of the bar may not be a bad idea and frankly it’s a good place to hang out after work if you work close by and don’t want to go trek over to Sukhumvit. Better yet, if you need somewhere to lure clients into signing that contract, Hari’s may be the perfect choice. Since the place isn’t that noisy, chill out and fill your tummy, with light
Asian snacks (B190) or the heavy buffet next door. For drinks, apart from local and imported beers (B180-220), opt for Hari’s cocktails like Bang Bang Bangkok (B230). The cocktail drinks here are quite smooth, so speak up if you want it stronger to suit your appetite
