Nothing on the menu will surprise you since the homey eatery’s mission is to keep it simple. When not whipping up his unpretentious tried-and-true Italian fare, Chef Nicola walks around to chat, while the sommelier is on hand to help with the restaurant’s extensive wine selection.
HSBC Dining Guide, BK#178, Mar 23, 2007 -----------------------------------------Strictly speaking, "enoteca" maens "place of wine," and over the years its has come to be understood as a casual wine bar, similar to a Spanish tapas bar or mezze bar in Greece or Turkey. This one is cut from a more tradiotional cloth, looking authentic enough with a wall of wines on one side of the barnlike room and a bar groaning under the weight of various salumi, cheese wheels and platters of glistening tidbits on the other. It's a charming little place, especially at night as there are tables set inside that overlook, through a wall of arched windows, a brightly lit front yard.
