Description
The buzz: Bar@Siam feels more like a sports lounge than a bar. No burly rugby fans and peanut shells, but young men and women who come in for drinks and conversation. The
sports theme seems to be only a backdrop.
The décor: If you gave a teenager free reign to design his dream basement, this is what you’d get. An all-black interior with brightly accented upholstery, sports bar staples (pool tables air hockey table, and darts) remind confused patrons of the theme.
The music: There’s no DJ or band, but the state-of-the-art music video graphics pumping out of every plasma screen serve as a substitute. Before 8pm there’s easy listening with old and new chart hits playing classic rock, R&B and electronica.
The crowd: (Business) men dominate the scene, at least until 10pm when Concept CM2 opens up and young clubbers pour in and mix with the bar crowd. Located at the Novotel on Siam Square, the bar sees many young customers and different nationalities.
The bill: Red Label B2,700, Black Label B4,250, cocktails B240-280. An uncreative menu, but the interactive happy hour makes for some fun and games. Earn drink discounts by
playing a bar game using a wirelessmouse and behind the bar plasma screen (more fun when drunk).
Why you’ll come back: For sports fanatics, the multiple screens mean that practically every sport is available to watch: soccer, tennis, rugby, basketball, you name it. The bar also caters to both sports lovers and regular bar folk, creating an interesting mix of people
