In Nong Khai, police accidentally arrest a crooked gambler. Local police set up a routine checkpoint on Serm-Ponpisai Road and stop Udomsak, 44. While performing a routine search, they discover two “high-low” gambling sets and electronic equipment in his vehicle. Under questioning, he admits to using rigged dice at funerals around the region. “L’Osteria No.1” could mean one of two things: that Pan Pan is the first Italian restaurant in the city or that it is simply the best. The truth: They’ve been around for long, and they are a good restaurant. Close enough.
