Sometimes you just have to leave the home comforts of Bangkok in search of alternative thrills and come the end of the year this means heading south. Yes, Zouk is back in Singapore on Dec 13. Now in it’s 17th year, it’s quite simply the region’s premier dance and music festival. Tickets go on sale soon so keep your eye on BK or www.zoukout.com for updates on who is going to be making an appearance.
Royal Rock
Ever since the Stereophonics concert (good idea but terrible sound system) we’ve been waiting for the next big rock event. At last 100 Pipers are trying again with its Bangkok 100 Rock 2008. While the lineup is still being finalized, big names including Ash and the Manic Street Preachers from the UK and Hoobastank and Angle and Air Wave from the US have already confirmed alongside home grown talents Modern Dog, Ebola, Scrubb and Apartment Khunpa. It’s set to take place on Nov 29-30 at 1st Battalion Regiment King’s Own Bodyguard field. So you can feel safe while you mosh. Tickets are on sale from Oct 16 at totalreservation.com, 02-833-5555. B800 (1-day pass), B1,400 (2-day pass).
Graceful November

“Hello” Kitty
Word has it that the Kitty Girls, the Filipino version of the Pussy Cat Dolls will be appearing at an exclusive-vip party/concert on Oct 14 at the cheesy Forte Club down on RCA. B800 (for 2 drinks) Formed back in 2006 they’re known for their skimpy outfits and sexy dance routines so the place will either be packed with straight guys or full of gay-wanna-be-pussy cats.
