Wanara Eatery, New York Steakhouse, House of Beers, Rossini’s

Tosakan’s Food

The swanky residence inspired by the demon Tosakan, Tenface, opened its signature restaurant Wanara Eatery (Tenface, 81 Ruamrudee Soi 2, Wireless Rd, 02-695-4242. Open daily noon-10:30pm). You can now dine on their Thai-Western dishes like the roasted rack of lamb in Thai crusted herbs with potatoes and shitake mushroom sauce (B720), or their fettuccine with seafood in yellow curry sauce (B320).

Steak and Sand

Turning seven, New York Steakhouse (2/F, JW Marriott, 4 Sukhumvit Soi 2, 02-656-7700. Open daily 6-11pm) is celebrating its anniversary throughout the whole month. Pay B7,777 and you get to dine from a three-course menu for two and also receive a one night stay at the Marriott’s branches in either Phuket or Hua Hin. The little getaway voucher is valid through Oct 31.

French Fries are Belgian

House of Beers (Thonglor Soi 16, 02-655-6251/2. Open daily 11am-midnight), a.k.a. HOBS, are ready to serve some Belgian favorites alongside their Belgian beers. For B250 you can order marinated or steamed mussels like the classic steamed mussels in white wine sauce. Another must is Belgian fries (B180) with sauces that include pesto, curry, aiolo and mayonnaise. They also have generic Western dishes like pork chops (B520).

A Star

Chef Fabio Baldassarre of Rome’s one-Michelin-star restaurant, L’altro Mastai, will be cooking up some Mediterranean cuisine at Rossini’s (Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, 250 Sukhumvit Rd., 02-649-8364. Open daily noon-2:30pm, 6:30-10:30pm) from Aug 15-24.
