Wanara Eatery

Wanara Eatery

September 4th, 2008

The buzz: The Tosakan-inspired residence, Tenface, is all about style and taste.

The décor: With the same interior designers as Greyhound, Wanara has the same edgy elegance. Finished in contrasting monochromes and equipped with marbletop tables and a black leather wrap-around couch, this eatery oozes style but also quirkiness: A large three-dimensional snake in the process of swallowing a tiny human being welcomes you into the restaurant.

The cuisine: Thai fusion that doesn’t leave you wondering what the hell you’re eating but leaves you asking for more. For starters, try their zesty yam with Italian sausages (B320). This dish won’t disappoint with its super spiciness and fresh ingredients. Highly recommended is their fettuccine with seafood in a yellow curry sauce (B340). The pong kalee isn’t too sweet and has a pleasant creamy texture, the pasta is cooked al dente and the seafood is fresh, making this a delicious and hearty dish. End your meal with their decadent chocolate soufflé (B120).

The crowd: In-house guests, hiso friends of the owner and people dropping in to see the new property.

The booze: A must-try is the Lovelorn Tosakan (B280). This potent cocktail contains gin, rum, black vodka, tequila, scotch, cognac, coffee liqueur, lime and roselle.
