TWISTED REPUBLIC, MAXXIUM, FLOW, ANGELINI’, BED SUPPERCLUB, BLACK MARKET MONDAY

Twisted Ice

Twisted Republic was launched as one of the first and, with the demise of Escudo, currently only interactive bars in Bangkok. Now, to give itself a frosty edge over its rivals in Sukhumvit Soi 11, they’ve launched the Twisted Ice Vodka Bar. The deal is everything in the room will be made from ice with temperatures kept as low as -14 degrees Celsius. Warm up with their range of “premium” Vodkas and by donning the Siberian hats and coats handed out when you enter the icebox.

Cocktail Controls

According to our source, 90% of the Kingdom’s bartenders have been using the “wrong” cocktail recipes for decades. Our personal experiences with Thailand’s Mai Tais suggest this is probably true. Now Maxxium (the company behind Absolut vodka and Jim Beam) has teamed up with Flow to bring some consistency to your Cosmopolitan. They will be running workshops for bartenders from around the country at Bangkok’s 5-star hotels with the aim of training those behind our bars the true art of mixology.

Jazzy Italian

Angelini’s   spices up its Italian food by bringing you a bit of Filipino flair, courtesy of singer Liliberth Antonio who will be performing soulful ballads and jazz nightly from 9pm-1am. Too bad it doesn’t coincide with the happy hour (buy one get one free with free Italian snack) between 7-9pm.

Green Bed

Have you ever partied in the dark? And we don’t just mean donning sunglasses to avoid the flashing lights. We mean really dark. Bed Supperclub is introducing its latest eco-friendly night out, Black Market Monday, with underground tunes and nothing but candle light. The idea is to make you feel part of the Save-the-World scheme. It’s a good idea, and we can already imagine what people might get up to in the gloom. Tempting isn’t it?
