This week you will mainly die from...

A violent teen
You may think the link between media violence and violent behavior is obvious but credible research is hard to come by. Too bad for worried mothers who’d want us all watching the Teletubbies, great for us blood-sucking moviegoers who don’t want Vaseline on our copy of Sweeney Todd or Grand Theft Auto. The mothers just scored a point, though, with a new US study that credibly links teen violence and watching violent stuff. Researchers rounded up a bunch of teenagers and asked them their favorite TV shows, movies and video game. Surprise, surprise: the one’s who ranked Texas Chainsaw Massacre above Sesame Street were more likely to demonstrate aggressive behavior. With all the political violence on TV these days, we suggest you switch it off and take a deep breath.
