Tapas Bars
August 31st, 2007The bar itself may not appear to be a tapas kind of place, but indeed there is a tapas menu created by a two-star Michelin chef. Funky food and electric cocktails go well together with the cool crowd and decent enough music (on some nights, at least). Plus, if you go at the night time, free food!
Sweeping views, live lounge music, and top notch tapas are what you can expect from this top floor hotel bar. There is a quiet lounge to enjoy a romantic cocktail or a chill evening with friends. Choose five (out of 10) tapas for B500. Chef Philippe’s elaborate dishes successfully layer and balance flavors—try the savory butternut soup with a light orange cream, braised beef with foie gras or smoked and raw salmon tartar.
This ground floor hotel bar boasts comfy sofas that overlook Wireless Road, which isn’t the most intriguing view in the city. But the tapas with Thai food twists are great and presented in a sophisticated way and doesn’t disappoint, especially if you order the lamp chop with num prik num. Wash it down with some good Thai wines to start your night off right.
People often mention the extravagant interior here, but the food is good, too! The kitchen in the five-star hotel lives up to the reputation, and the food is on a New York-style standard. The tapas menu may not be the best they have to offer, but when you chow down a couple of small plates while sipping their signature cocktails and the band is playing your favorite songs…that’s what we call nightlife.
