Italian Festival

As part of the Italian Festival, 12 Italian restaurants are presenting The Great Cuisine of Italian Towns where each chef will molding their menu to match a particular Italian province. The fi xed menu at each restaurant is B1,500. Participating restaurants include Spasso (Grande Hyatt Erawan Hotel, 494 Ratchadamri Rd., 02-254-1234) with a menu of the Catania region and Gianni Ristorante (34/1 Soi Tonson, Ploenchit Rd., 02-252-1619) will represent Venice. Other participating restaurants include Angelini, Beccofi no, Belguardo, Fallabella, Grappino, Italianate, La Gritta, La Villa, Biscotti and Rossini’s. May 30-June 14. Tapas, Tapas, Tapas!

The mediterranean fusion café-restaurant, Crepes & Co. (18/1 Sukhumvit Soi 12 near BTS Asoke, 02-653-3990. Open Mon-Sat 9am-midnight, Sun 8am-midnight), is holding a Tapas Festival this month until the end of July. There will also be paella cooked Valencia style.

My Friends

Mes Amis (Thonglor Soi 8, 02-712-5124. Open daily 6am-10pm) has found a new home. The French eatery is broadening its horizons to incorporate a more international menu including other European cuisines and Japanese dishes, with the doors set open on June 1. You can go as early as 6am to feast on their American-style breakfast buffet (B230).

A Witching Eat

The Witch Pie Factory (44/5 Soi Thonglor 1 Sukhumvit 55, BTS Thonglor, 02-662-6664. Open daily 9am-6pm) is home to hearty British pies. At the reasonable price of B90 you can scoff down traditional steak and kidney pies, and Shepherd’s pies. For B50 extra you can ask for your pies to be accompanied with gravy, peas and mashed potatos. Finish things off with an apple pie (B70).
