Issue #269: Why I Exercise

Sofa So Good,R Burger,Kin Ramen,Grill & Chill

The Sofa Moved

Sofa So Good bistro and wine bar (50 Phahonyothin 7, 02-617-0909. Open Mon-Sat 11:30am-2pm, 5:30-midnight) has just relocated, moving from Ari Soi 5 to Soi 7. Same modern menu, same cute décor, except the new place has more seats. It seems auspicious names sometimes do work.

Japanese at 41

With ingredients like fresh veggies, natural salt, bamboo charcoal powder (what?), steamed buns injected with marine collagen and no beef in sight, Japanese R Burger (369-398 Lock 41, Siam Square, Rama 1 Rd., 02-251-1262. Open daily 10am-11pm) wants to be the healthiest burger in town. They recommend the R Burger (B75), which is pork meat with miso sauce. In the same shop as R Burger, Kin Ramen serves a Kin Ramen set (B220) which comes with chachou pork, boiled egg and roasted duck. Or go for their fried pork on rice a.k.a. bendon buri (B120). Currently, 10% discount on all food items.

The Queen Now Cooks

Dairy Queen is broadening its culinary skills (insert registration of sarcasm here) to include burgers. The new Grill & Chill (2/F Siam Center Rama 1 Rd., 02-658-1191. Open daily 10am-9:30pm) is launching a Flame Thrower Hamburger (B89). The combo, which includes a coke and a side is B139.
