Because You’re Worth It
You may remember a few months back BK teamed up with Smirnoff to create a Design Your Dream Party Competition. Well, after much deliberation we finally have a winner. Kudos to Yoki who scooped the top prize thanks to their inspired Electric Wonderland theme. Their theme has now been turned into a B400,000 multimedia affair featuring trippy visuals, a 3D screen (everyone gets 3D glasses at the door) and a set featuring both DJ Galactic Soul and Sabai Sabai on the decks. The original plan was to keep it private but we couldn’t do that to you so the whole thing will be open to the public for free. Mark your calendar for Jul 4 and meet us down at 808 for your chance to see if Yoki spent the money wisely.
Last Dude’s Standing
Six years ago Dudesweet was just a small group of people who loved Brit pop and loved to party. From such humble beginnings things have grown and grown, but it seems all good things do come to an end, well maybe. On Jun 27, at 808 (B250, 1 drink), Note and the gang will be throwing what promises to be their last ever Dudesweet party. For those already pining don’t fear— as we said before, they will be reborn as Niteshift.
Only Light by Name
If you haven’t already heard Federbrau is the new “premium” lager on the block. As part of their effort to win club-goer’s hearts and taste buds they’ve laid on a series of 10-free gigs at venues around Bangkok under the banner of the Federventure Party. So far Groove Rider has played at Song Salung while B Peerapat rocked Winebridge Plus (Lang Suan). The venture now sees Poh Yokee Playboy and Friday I’m in Love appearing at Sod Samo (Ekkamai) on Jun 20. After that, Groove Rider, Bee Peerapat and Poh Yokee Playboy (either together or separately) will be visiting Y-50 (Jun 27, Jul 25), Prop Bar RCA (Jul 4), Slim (Jul 11) and Oh Bar (Aug 1). The last two venues have yet to be confirmed so watch this space.
Inch Out to Ratchada
Ratchada may not be a regular nightspot for downtown Bangkokians but if you cut out those nasty bars in even-numbered sois, Inch is one place that makes it worth the journey. Need further persuasion? Well Inch are throwing a free concert where you can catch Tattoo Color, Skykick Ranger and Sqweex Animal on Jun 26.
A Gay Celebrity
The people of Aor To Gor market are welcoming yet another gay bar to the area. Situated next to Greez and Fake Club, Celebrity Bangkok, opened its doors last week. Catch the 411 in BK soon.
