A new fashion line with a cutting edge. By Jung Hyun Lee

Papercuts and The Pencil Sharpener began when two friends, Manisa Sakdiyakorn and Saitarn Karncharanwong, decided to present their designs at Bangkok International Fashion Week. They were spotted by Playhound who then asked them to design jeans for their shelves. As demand grew, they continued to expand, displaying their clothing lines at a shop called Periph’ery and developing casual, unisex, everyday wear under the Papercuts Crayon label.

Now the pair, with the financial backing of Pae and two other friends, have gone it alone with their own store. They are responsible for two lines; Papercuts and the casual Crayon, which features jeans, shirts, polos and cardigans. Papercuts and The Pencil Sharpener is more formal, with blouses, shirts, suits and dresses based on the Japanese style known as “zakka,” offering homey and handcrafted products that usually come in neutral colors, such as black, white, gray and beige.

You can also accessorize your look with their their Japanese inspired shoulder bags, which come in three different colors and two different sizes. B2,650 for you bag ladies and B2,350 for those who like things compact.

Expect the store to refresh its stylish swag every week, while every three months it will feature a new theme. Even if you aren’t a big fan of Pae’s music, this sharp line of fashionable products is definitely cutting edge.
