Dear Mr KIA: After a long period of serious consideration, I’ve just ended up buying an old cramped apartment near Central Pinklao. Though unfriendly neighbors and unpleasant views are annoying me, I still think staying in the place has a bright side. One good thing about living in such an apartment is that I can save a huge sum of money in transforming a small tasteless room into a stylish studio. I need a wardrobe for my clothes and shoes, a dining table with cool chairs and also surely a cozy bed to sleep in! The problem is I don’t want to spend a fortune on an interior designer so I need to decorate it myself. My girlfriends will be here for a party and I can’t let them see my apartment like it is now. Please help me before I die from embarrassment! —Chaotic Girl

Dear CG: First of all, congratulations on your new apartment. BTW, do you know that some people work for a lifetime but can’t afford property of their own? Well, I’m sincerely happy for you, princess-in-a-castle, or should I call you Marie-Antoinette? Anyway CG, before rushing to a store, there’s one thing you should keep in mind: The price of paradise is high, my dear. Stylish attic or retro furniture is not as cheap as you think.

I’ve tracked down these three places in town to turn your gloomy room into a stylish suite. Don’t forget to invite me to your house warming party!

Tuba has a variety of furniture: retro, attic, European and modern. You can see some of their products on www.design-athome.com. They also serves food and drink.

Y50 is also a pub and restaurant. You can just come and eat or drink something while you look for something right for your room.

Retro Chairs can make your dream come true with custom made furniture. They have everything ranging from retro to modern style tables, sofas, chairs and everything in between.
