The Perfect Outfit
Reflexions (3/F, Plaza Athenee Bangkok, Wireless Rd., 02-650-8800. Open Mon-Sat 11:30am-2:30pm, 6pm-10:30pm), until July 31, is having “The Table,” a B5,000 menu designed by Chef Thibault Chiumenti based on whichever wine(s) you choose from their list of 18 boutique wine labels. Just like picking the perfect outfit, you choose your shoes first then everything else falls into place. They’ll even set up a special table for you that is sure to make you the envy of other diners. Also try their new a la carte menu­—they recommend the Honey peppered glazed Challans duck breast with roasted pepper, wild mushroom and duck jus (B1,400).

The New Nest
A new branch of Bug & Bee (3/F MBK Center, Phaya Thai Rd., near BTS National Stadium, 02-626-0123. Open daily 10am-10pm) opened at MBK in tandem with the chain’s 4th birthday and their new summer mango menu. If someone whacks a brochure in your face, it might be a Bug & Bee leaflet. Bring it to the new branch and get a 15% discount.

Gluttony Meter
One of the seven deadly sins now has a price. At Iso (Nai Lert Park, Wireless Rd., near MRT Lumphini, 02-253-0123. Open daily 11:30am-2:30pm, 6:30pm-10:30pm), the buffet promotion for lunch, until July 31, is a race against the clock where every minute of dining costs you B5. Let’s hope their meters are more reliable than the ones used by some taxis at Suvarnabhumi.

Love Me, Love My Hound
Another Hound (1/F, Siam Paragon, 991/1 Rama 1 Rd., near BTS Siam, 02-129-4409. Open daily 10:30am-9:30pm) has a special menu that will be changing every quarter. Until the end of July (when the special menu goes through alterations) try their grilled beef carpaccio in spicy sauce (B180); it’s so saeb it won’t disappoint. Or try the Hound’s sweet summer salad (220) of mixed greens with prawns and mango dressing. For dessert opt for their sticky rice and mango parfait (B125), which doesn’t stray from the underlying Greyhound concept of—simple but never boring.
