Red Sky Restuarant

Red Sky Restuarant

November 28th, 2008

The buzz: Red Sky’s 55th floor view puts it in the league of high flyers like Vertigo.

The décor: With an alfresco dining area plus a martini and cocktail bar, we say ditch the boring fine dining inside and opt for the dim lighting, 55th floor breeze and view of the Central group’s offices to your right. The view is breathtaking.

The cuisine: For starters, opt for their cream of Tuscan porcini (B455), an incredibly thick mushroom soup and juicy pieces of diced foie gras. A slightly lighter option is their Red Sky salade folle with smoked duck magret, foie gras shavings, duck gizzards, yabbies and truffle dressing (B855). For your carnivorous cravings, opt for the New York strip (B2,155) that comes with large pieces of duck fat potato fries. A good end to the decadent meal is their apple B&B (B295), Scottish bread and butter pudding with whiskey ice cream.
The crowd: Look at these prices—you won’t bump into your maid, here.

The booze: Alcohol is a must, with an extensive wine collection of around 240 labels, check out their two-floor glass encased wine cellar, with “wine angels” strapped to a pulley grabbing bottles for you. Wines range from B900 to over B30,000. With strong martinis, lightweights should maybe opt for their sweet white chocolate martini (B290).

Red Sky. 55/F, Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Ratchadamri Rd., 02-100-1234. Open daily 5:30-11pm (wine bar 11:30-1am)
