Ratchadapisek Soi 4
Ratchadapisek Soi 4
May 30th, 2008Snop
02-612-2459. Open daily 7pm-2am.
This Soi 4 pioneer has a King of the Hill image with its giant status and stature. The décor has a pretty confused approach, with Victorian influences in one corner and a retro touch in another but the big draw is the live band. While they might not be the best singers in town they are born entertainers and watching them on stage can get anyone going.
Bangrak
08-6688-5490. Open daily 7pm-2am.
This pub and restaurant almost made the Snop stop, when it first opened but eventually, it just ran out of juice. However, if you’re into the same kind of crowd as Snop—that’s office going folk—and are looking for a night of good music, then the live band at Bangrak often plays a good set. Less of the typical pop, pop rock and slow rock… thank goodness!
Pure
08-1817-2562. Open daily 7pm-2am.
If you’re up for a mix of live music and DJ driven discs, with young-blooded waansters (gangsters? Not quite!), then you’ve picked the right spot with Pure. This one-story bar has DJs spinning a blend of hip hop and house interspersed with a live band that plays contemporary sing-a-long pop and pop rock in intervals.
Vice Versa
Open daily 7pm-2am.
Swinging and swaying coyotes galore! If you’ve watched Coyote Ugly, well, picture the Asian version and times that by 12. So if you’re not really into more-than-half naked women in your face, then it’s ime you pick some place else. However, the owners are super friendly, and if there does happen to be a brawl outside, you are guaranteed more time to booze it up with them in their VIP area.
Kok Kok
02-643-9398. Open daily 7pm-2am.
It’s your typical dark and quiet hang out, so don’t bet on having a crazy night out at Kok Kok. In fact, if you’re looking for a more chilled out atmosphere with a few friends, then this is the ideal spot to indulge in an intimate gossip session.
