Q&A: The Screen of Achita Pramotch

Singer Achita “Ing” Pramotch Na Ayudhya’s only acting experience dates back to the 1994 TV series Kuu Tae Song Lok. However, fans will soon get to see the singer on the big screen when thriller The Screen opens on Dec 5.

What have you been up to?

I have been working behind the scenes, producing albums for other singers. I also went traveling and diving. I’m addicted to diving. Life should be as colorful as a macaw bird. If you work all the time, you stay in one color, then life is too boring. And I don’t take on too many jobs either because I like to focus on one thing at a time and do it the best I can.

Why did you agree to star in The Screen?

I was interested in the film the second I first read the script. I play Yuth, a doctor who has a fixation on ghost folklore. The character is completely opposite to me. It’s a good opportunity to be someone that I’m not.

Any pressures?

I was a bit confused at first, so I asked the director how he wanted me to act. I was a bit stiff at first, but gradually I got better.

Are you afraid of ghosts?

I was when I was young, but now I think people are more frightening. Ghosts just spook us and then go, but people keep scaring us.

Do you think the public perceives you as a singer or as an actor?

I've never thought about it, because lots of singers become actors and vice versa. I’m one of them. But in the end, it depends on how good you are.
