Fancy Spellers Parisian electro-pop duo tHe pEneLOpe[s] are law and med school drop outs who succumbed to their true passion—music. Their sound is a harmonious mix of electronics and guitars that finds its home squarely on the dance floor. The will be performing as part of La Fête on Jun 16 at Bed Supperclub.

3 words best used to describe tHe pEneLOpe[s]:

Boys can cry.

What makes your band unique?

In Europe, people used to say that we are from a UFO because we have no rules in making people dance. We mix uncommon instruments and influences with electronic music. We are very involved during the gigs and have no computers on stage at all.

What is in your head while you are planning for a show?

A show is an epic journey for us. We are playing in a state of emergency.

What is your inspiration?

All melodious, “shiny” and sensitive music. We like when tension and calmness are mixed alternately.

If you had to create a song named “Bangkok,” how would it sound?

You read our minds! We have a live song called “Bangkok” and we will play it, of course! It’s an anthemic and powerful song for the dance floor!

Any messages for your Thai fans?

It’s the first time that we will play in Thailand, and it’s a bigger deal for us than playing in the US, where we are going to play in July. For us, Thailand and Asia in general are wonderful ponds of talent and ideas and probably the future of the next big artistic movements. It’s an honor for us.
