Q&A: Mamee & Kal

In sequel Long Khong 2, Napakpapha “Mamee” Nakprasitte reprises her role as Panor, a femme fatale teacher who turns to black magic. This time around, she is joined by singer Kal Nemayothin, who makes her acting debut.

Tell us more about your roles.

Mamee: Like in the original Long Khong, I play Panor, a teacher. At first, I didn’t want to take on the same role. But after reading the script, I immediately said yes. In this sequel, viewers will get to know how Panor became so cruel and cold-blooded.
Kal: My character is called Pen, a nurse whose sister falls victim to Panor’s black magic. She struggles to find cures for her sister so that they can be back together. It was very difficult for an inexperienced actress like me. This is my first film and the character is totally different from me.

Do you believe in black magic?

Mamee: I would say 70/30. In the old days, people might resort to black magic to gain affection of the one they loved. But now people just get plastic surgery to be more beautiful!
Kal: It’s like ghosts. I’ve never witnessed it but I don’t talk about it in an insulting way.

How did you like working together?

Mamee: We get along very well, probably because we have the same Zodiac sign. Kal is sincere, friendly and always makes me laugh. Now, she is one of my best friends.
Kal: I was a bit nervous when I knew that I had to be in the same scene with Mamee because she is such a talented actress. But after I got to know her, she has been helping me with everything. She gives me a lot of acting techniques and advice. Working with her, I feel like I have my own sister to take care of me.
