Q&A: DJ Fuzz
Q&A: DJ Fuzz
March 8th, 2008
Synonymous with Malaysian hip hop, host of his very own “Club Hitz” show on FM radio and a recently inducted member of the worldwide coalition, the Bum Squad, DJ Fuzz is here to rock you to Bed.
Why the name “DJ Fuzz”?
It’s derived from my real name, Farzwa. People used to call me Fuzz in college—nothing to do with “cops” or “peach fuzz.”
What are the challenges you face in this profession?
The perception of DJs to the general public is a person who presses the start/stop button, as opposed to a DJ as an entertainer.
What makes it rewarding?
The improvements realized from time to time, the significance and influence of DJs in the music industry and the opportunities and experiences that can be gained.
Where do you like to spin the most?
I prefer spinning in clubs to doing showcases on the stage because of the response, energy and excitement from the audience.
Your future projects?
Right now I’m working on Mixology 2, Malaysia’s number one mix-tape that features many artists across the region including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and many more. It will be out in stores by April this year. Sonia Boonchanasukit
