AIRLINES

BKK-add one stop here-JFK
As if traveling to the United States from Thailand didn’t take long enough, THAI Airways just announced the cancellation of direct flights from Bangkok to NYC. Another one bites the dust; blame it on high fuel prices. And, for those who will try to seek refuge at LAX, don’t get too comfortable with the direct route to Los Angeles as THAI is reducing the frequency of these flights.

Bird Noodles
THAI also has a 39% stake in Nok Air, which (after cutting some of its international
flights to Bangalore and Hanoi last Nov) just cut its Chiang Rai, Ubon Ratchathani
and Krabi routes. “If crude prices touch $160 a barrel, no airline, not just Nok Air, can survive. If it reaches $170 a barrel, I am better off selling noodles,”
Nok’s CEO, Patee Sarasin, was quoted by The Bangkok Post as saying.
