While you are reading this, Paradox (Ekamai Soi 17, www.paradoxbangkok.com) may simultaneously be unveiling its swanky shopping and dining complex. If the timing hasn’t worked out quite so perfectly, here’s a quick rundown: The Ekamai newcomer is set to make waves in the City of Angels, bringing together a wine cellar, Mediterranean restaurant, coffee shop, art gallery and more under the same roof. We’ll bring you a full report as soon as we find out more.
Frozen Invasion
Korea-based Red Mango (2/F, 304 Siam Square Soi 4, Rama 1 Rd., 02-251-2500. Open daily 10am-9pm) has launched its latest outlet at Siam Square, wooing the health-conscious sweet tooth with non-fat yogurt ice cream. Don’t expect a smorgasbord of flavors, though, as there is only original on offer to be mixed and matched with a variety of toppings from mango and raspberry to fruity gummies. Prices range from B49 to B189. Toppings are B10 each or choose five toppings and pay B30. Smoothies are also available at B89.
Grape Expectations
For two weeks this month, Jan 14-31, Chef Philippe Keller at D’Sens (22/F, The Dusit Thani, Rama 1 Rd., 02-200-9000 ext. 2499. Open Mon-Sat 11:30am-2:30pm, 6:30-10pm ) whips up a four-course set dinner with California grapes as the main ingredient. Your B1,750 brings you a quartet of pan-fried foie gras, pan-fried scallop, quail and a dessert platter of grape tartin, sherbet and panna cotta. (All prepared with grapes, of course).
OTOP Recipe
