In Wattana Nakorn, Srakaew, the village head has his wife murdered because of her  excessive superstition. The headman’s wife, Bua Wongsena, is obsessed with spirits to the point where she spends B450,000 on sorcery to ward them off. Her husband is so angered by her actions that he hires a hit man to murder her. The police quickly capture the assassin who, in turn, denounces the headman.

 

3 THU

In Udon Thani, a man marries a snake. Sathien Kenkusong, 35, is fi shing in a river, when a boa coils around him and kisses his cheek. Despite his attempts to fl ee, the boa clings to him all the way home until his family pries it off and returns it to the river. The next day, as Sathien hunts for frogs in the same river, the boa grips him again. A local sorcerer announces the boa was Sathien’s soul mate in a past life, when it was the daughter of a Naga for which Sathien was a solider and vowed to follow him throughout each of his lives. The sorcerer prescribes that Sathien marry the boa to break the vow and a proper ceremony is held where the groom promises to take good care of hisbride.

In Bangkok, a body drops onto a woman’s car. Preeyanant Kaewkam, 27, is driving on Ratchadapisek Road, when she hears a heavy object drop onto the roof of her car. Preeyanant breaks down upon discovering it was a body that hit her vehicle and is still sobbing uncontrollably when police arrive. Upon investigation, the deceased is a suicide victim with a history of depression who jumped from a fl yover.

6 SUN

In Nongkai, a man commits suicide and nearly severs his own penis. Pornchai Dokmai, 43, is found dead on his bed with deep slashing wounds on his throat, ribcage and penis, which is nearly entirely severed. Jun, 45, his wife, tells police that her husband had been a healthy man until his excessive drinking caused him to become hemiplegic. After the accident, he had constantly complained of being a burden and of wanting to die. The police, fi nding no signs of a struggle, consider the death a suicide.

 

8 TUE

In Ranong, a man is accused of extorting B1 million from his girlfriend. Peerapong Pornpirompakdee, 33, is tracked down to his hideaway where he is found with a computer and 17 CDs containing images of his girlfriend engaged in sexual acts with him.
