In Bangkok, a 40-year-old man masturbates in a bookshop. Yathip, an automobile parts salesman, enters the B2S bookshop at Crystal Park on Pradit Manoon Tham Rd. to browse erotic magazines. Aroused, he pulls out his penis and starts to masturbate, dissimulating his activity with his shirt. A 12-year-old spots him and screams, attracting her parents and security, who turn him over to the police. He is fi ned B1,000 and released.

In Kampaeng Phet, local doctors perform an operation to remove a climbing perch from a man’s throat. Chan, 55, is fi shing in a canal behind his home when he catches a pla mor. He puts the fi sh in his mouth in order to free his hands and rearrange his net but the writhing animal accidentally slips down into his throat. Klong Klung Hospital’s doctors, for lack of proper equipment, redirect Chan to Sawan Pracha Rak Hospital where it takes fi ve doctors one hour in the operation room to remove the dead fi sh. Chan is saved but is still recovering in the hospital.

28 MON

In Bangkok, two men rob nearly one million baht and 1,000 mackerels from a woman’s car. Suthathip, 28, is an employee of a fish export company. She’s driving a car to deposit B911,000 in cash at the bank as well as drop off 1,000 mackerels at Suvarnabhumi airport. Two men on motorcycles drive up to her and smash her windshield. Suthathip accelerates to escape but the motorcycles are able to cut her off. The men break the car’s windows and snatch both the fish and the money. Police suspect the robbers may be former employees of her company.

29 TUE

In Bangkok, a young man commits suicide after being raped. Nares, 24, visits his grandmother in Saraburi. When he returns, Chorthip, 50, his mother finds him awkwardly quiet. When she  questions him, Nares confides that he was robbed and raped by local teens in Saraburi and didn’t report the crime because of the shame he felt. After they speak, in the morning, Chorthip hears a loud bang but doesn’t think anything of it. In the afternoon, she fi nds Nares dead. The family did not own a gun but police assume that Nares’ death is
a suicide.
