In Ubon Ratchathani, a fisherman nets an unexpected catch: a car with the body of the dead driver at the wheel. The fisherman’s net is snared by the vehicle, leading to the gruesome discovery. The body is identified as Uthin, a mechanic who disappeared at the age of 33 last September. His father claims he had no enemies and the police suppose that Uthin simply had an accident.

In Pathumthani, a young man falls five stories as he tries to get into his girlfriend’s room. Nuttaphol, 21, an air-conditioner mechanic, is drunk when he tries to get into his girlfriend’s room on the fourth floor. First he asks her neighbor if he can climb from the neighbor’s room into her room. The neighbor refuses, so Nuttaphol tries to climb down from the roof. From there, he slips and falls down onto the spikes of a fence below, and is impaled to death.

In Buri Ram, a dream reveals the location of ancient religious artifacts magically floating in the middle of a pond. Saner, 52, goes to his local abbot regarding his wife’s dream: light springing from the pond behind the temple. They explore the water and find two bronze heads from Buddha images floating in the middle of the pond. The heads are believed to be 1,500 years old, from the Dvaravati era.
In Nonthaburi, construction materials fall off a bridge after an accident and land on man’s car. Pongsakorn, 26, is making deliveries with his truck when he drives under the new Rama 3 bridge. The first steel sheet lands on his truck and immobilizes the vehicle. An instant later, the second sheet hits the cabin, blocking the driver’s door. Pongsakorn exits on the passenger side, unharmed.

In Bangkok, the Ministry of Culture’s online forum is a victim of pornographic spam attacks. At least 500 web links pop up on the ministry’s web boards—in particular in those dealing with tourism, religion, ancient sites, teens and entertainment. The web links advertise themselves through key words such as “sexygirl,” “pussy,” “sexvideo,” “sexy cowgirl,” “Japanese ass” and “hot bot.”
