Handheld Pizza
Not only ice cream can be served in a cone, now that newcomer Kone Pizza (6/F, CentralWorld, Isetan Zone, Ratchadamri Rd. Open daily 10am-9pm) is up and running. Instead of preparing toppings on a thin dough slab, the grab-and-go parlor prepares its “cone pizza” (B49 and B69) crepe-style, with seven fillings like Hawaiian, salami and ham, bacon and mushrooms. Through Jan 31, order a cone pizza and get a soft drink free.
Italian Number One
Though known for its Thai fare, Sukhumvit House Number 1 (1 Sukhumvit Soi 14, BTS Asok, 02-653-3900. Open daily 11am-1am) is hopping on the Italian bandwagon, welcoming Chef Worapon Thammajindar, who worked in an Italian restaurant in Australia. For a limited time, dine with four or more in your party and pay B1,000 per person for a five-course set dinner including onion consomme soup, salad, choice of grain-fed Australian striploin steak or grilled Norwegian salmon, vanilla pannacotta and coffee or tea.
Fusion Feast
Hotel dining is not necessarily expensive at Momo (The Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok, Soi Mahadlekluang 1, Ratchadamri Rd., 02-690-1888. Open daily 6am-1:30am). The open-all-day restaurant pits mall-priced Asian fare (around B150) against pastas (B150-170) and wood-fired pizzas (B180-220). If the weather permits, opt for the outdoor terrace and order some cocktials (B250) or smoothies (B125) to accompany your meal.
Hola Coyote
The second Coyote location, Coyote Bar & Grill (575-579 near Sukhumvit Soi 33, 02-662-3838, www.coyoteonconvent.com. Open daily 11am-midnight) boasts the same colorful interior and Mexican-influenced, margaritastudded menu as the original. Sunday brunch will be available soon.
