Jet Metropolitan
Jet Metropolitan
June 25th, 2008
Opened: May 2008
The buzz: It has retained Jet’s old vibe in a better location and more distinguished surroundings. An exclusive space offering three separate sections of fun.
The décor: For now, the set up is divided into three areas with a fourth, called Sixty Six, due to open soon. Each has its own distinctive look and each is split over two floors. Downstairs in the live music zone, the somber black theme and low-rise cube seating and sofas make the leopard print stage backdrop really stand out. Up on the mezzanine you can enjoy a bird’s eye view from curtained bed sofas and retro nest-style seats or head to the patio for a smoke. Mist is the wine and cocktail section, while the mezzanine offers a café—real coffee and cakes! The dance part of the experience, the curiously named V Intimate Derivation, is all about subdued lighting, a red and black finish and red leather beds on the second floor.
The music: The live music section plays Thai pop rock tunes while Mist offers chill out in the early evening before turning trance later on. V gives you further choice: hip hop on weekdays and early weekend evenings before house DJ’s take over.
The crowd: It’s now the second home of young, eligible bachelors and bachelorettes.
The price: Spirits B850-8,000, mixer B60, beer B150, cocktails and house wine (glass) B190.
Why you’ll come back: It’s currently the top hot and happening spot in Soi Ekkamai and you can bet that everyone in your Hi5 network will be down there.
