The annual Greek food festival returns to Crepes & Co. (18/1 Sukhumvit Soi 12, 02-653-3990/1, www.crepes.co.th. Open daily 9am-midnight). More than 15 Greek specialties have been added to the already extensive crepe menu. Enjoy a healthy meal of horaitiki (Greek salad), keftedes (meatballs) and moussaka (eggplant casserole). Finish things off with Greek coffee. Through Oct 31.
Beef Box Cook-Off
Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa (257 Charoennakorn Rd., 02-476-0022) is playing host to the 5th MLA (Meat & Livestock Australia) Black Box Culinary Challenge Bangkok on Sep 8-9. The purpose of the contest is to promote the quality of Aussie red meat, while encouraging chefs to strut their stuff. On day one of the competition, each team (consisting of a team chef and three Chef de Parties), which hail from leading hotels like Marriott, The Oriental, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit and Sofitel Silom will be given a mysterious black box containing identical ingredients. Teams will have one hour to design a threecourse meal, which they will present the following day to the judges and VIP guests. The winning team will competeagainst 22 other countries in the global final in Dubai next year. The event is open for the public to observe.

Like its moniker, which means “very good” in the Kyushu dialect, Yokayoka (1/F Tower A, Somerset Lake Point, Sukhumvit Soi 16, 02-663-0234 ext. 2300) offers an extensive menu of delicious Kyushu-style sashimi (B280- 1,500), fried dishes (B150), nabe (B280) and desserts. The one-month-old izakaya is relaxed and lively with a rustic warehouse décor and cool lighting. Come in at lunch for a handful of set meals under B200.

The young chef is set make his debut with a wine dinner on Aug 30, 7pm, when his modern French fivecourse dinner is matched with a selection of French wines from importers fin.
