Compiling scrapbooks, the favorite pastime of Martha Stewart fans and of people who just can’t throw sentimental stuff away, is a dying art. In the age of technology, where your memories can be stored and shared digitally, the old-fashioned, but charming, way of keeping and creating memories through photo albums and handwritten journals with keepsakes is a rare thing. But the corner shop, Goose, located on Siam Square Soi 4, is bringing back the culture of scrapbook-making to Bangkok.

The inviting shop, although tiny, manages to cram in a massive collection of stationery and scrapbook making kits. Upon entering, you’ll see a wooden tabletop that looks like the workstation of a Dark Age poet. Paneled onto the walls are shelves full of multicolored office supplies, from filing boxes to agenda journals. What makes Goose stand out from the B2S-esque stationery stores are the materials and variety of colors. “The art of making scrapbooks is still fairly unknown in Bangkok, and we would like to introduce it to the people here,” says Goose store manager Supornthip Treecharakarn. “With our products, you can design your own notebook or photo album.” Sitting in the center of the teen hub, the store has attracted quite a number of youngsters—but scrapbook making is really for anyone who likes to keep their memories safe, and in style.
