Gerard Darel, I.Sawan Spa and Krung Thong Plaza 2

Bonjour Gerard
The French ready-to-wear brand Gerard Darel is coming to town and setting up shop at Central Chidlom. The two-decade-old brand has already spawned stores in many fashionable cities such as London, Tokyo and New York. It boasts a “clear, simple and warm” style for its latest Spring/Summer 2008 collection which translates into funky white jackets and primary-colored high-waist shorts. Available now at Central Chidlom, 1/F, Phloenchit Rd., 02-793-7777.

Cottage Pampering
The Grand Hyatt’s I.Sawan Spa (494 Rajdamri Rd., Bangkok, 02-254-6310, isawan. hyatt.com) is offering two new memberships that should appeal to Bangkokians wanting to escape the city without being more than a couple-minutes walk of a BTS station. With the  B12,000 Spa Membership, get two half-day treatment packages, one of which you can enjoy in the utterly luxurious Tony Chi-designed spa cottage with living room, bedroom, bathroom and boudoir/walking closet. There’s also a bunch of goodies and discounts, as with the B30,000 Spa Cottage Membership, which offers a night in your little spa home, four half-day  packages (one of which can be had in the cottage if you’re only visiting) and many more goodies.

Low Fashion
If you’re more Platinum than Paragon, you’ve got a new friend in town. The Krung Thong (“Golden Town,” how tasteful) chain welcomes Krung Thong Plaza 2 (13/8 Petchaburi Soi 21, [opposite Pantip Plaza], 02-653-9333. Open daily 9am-6pm) to its family, promising over 600 shops selling fashion and accessories at economical prices.
