Culture One Electronic Dance Festival
Culture One Electronic Dance Festival
February 1st, 2008After One
Thailand’s first electronic dance music festival, Culture One, was truly thrilling, brilliant, gigantic, (endless list of superlatives goes here). What a line up! What a venue! We’ll never forget Brian Cross at the Amnesia stage and John OO Fleming at Godskitchen; crowds
were positively hypnotized. And despite the throngs of people, it was still somehow possible to bump into friends time and time again as you jumped from set to set. Oh and thumbs up to the bartenders that gave us as much Bacardi as we wanted, that always helps. And did we mention the lighting, visuals, art exhibitions and enough bathrooms! Have we lost all critical judgment? Well they did start to close down too early by our book—the main stage was shut down a few minutes after one!
100 Percent Confirmed
The 100 Rock Uncensored concert is now positively confirmed to
rock us on Apr 26 at Klong Toey Port. Time to click and double click
for tickets at www.100community.com.
Wet & Gay
Gay parties in town seem to rely on getting down and dirty. Thank Singapore for gcircuit.com, who roll up their sleeves to throw some real smashin’ gay parties. Their past two-days-in-a-row fests with flown-in DJs, extravagant themes and original locations were
pricey but awesome. Looks like they’re stepping things up for 2008 as they plan to throw a party for THREE days in a row, during Songkran, Apr 12-14. The theme is not yet confirmed (don’t rush to Siam for a new outfit just yet) but we do know they will bring in DJ Kimberly from USA and Tye, a familiar face of gcircuit’s parties. Go hit that gym, sister, and show those Singaporeans we have sixpacks and pecs in Thailand, too!
Going Nowhere
Couple weeks ago, we told you about the epidemic among bars in Thonglor and Ekkamai. Santika was on our list and they read BK, too. “We’re not going anywhere!” they called to say. Okay, our bad, last time we trust a rumor heard drunk at a bar (but then, what will we write about?). They also told us they’re planning a big party and to expect some changes with their little sister, Coloc. We’ll keep you posted.
