Singha attempts to attract young Thais to more sober fashion.

The shop opened in September but it’s the fashion show at Bangkok International Fashion Week last month that has drawn new attention to the lion labeled clothes. Just another trick to escape alcohol advertising laws (Singha, you know, the soda water and fashion brand) or a legitimate player on the fashion scene? We head to their boutique to find out.

One thing is for sure, as we discovered, you won’t mistake their shirts for the ones found on the sidewalk of Pratunam. The pieces here are designed by a group of big-name Bangkok designers such as Kowit Pongpandecha and Chamnan Pakdeesuk of Flynow—expect a price tag to match.

The collection at Singha Life is not just about smacking the brand onto some fabric. The stuff you find here can definitely be strutted on the catwalk. Try their pair of skinnies (B2,500-3,000) on for size—literally. To make them fit, you’re encouraged to shower while wearing them, which allows them to conform to your shape, giving them a perfect slim-fit.

If a t-shirt (B990-1,100) with a Singha logo printed on is too much of a statement, Flynow has utilized its familiar bold and colorful forms and dressed up Singha’s golden creature in more fashionista-worthy hues. Could this be Thailand’s version of Campbell Soup?

Unfortunately, Singha probably thinks girls and their macho beer do not mix. The testosterone-oriented clothing store only lets us girls enjoy its collection of bag-lady-sized purses (B7,990), leather clutches (B3,430), a few t-shirts, and not much else unless you’re into baggy clothes. But if you guys already love the beer and are looking for something to reflect your devotion, anything from leather wallets to a complete formal suit and pants set (B7,000-8,000) will help you do just that.
