Nuovo Angelini

After a seven-month renovation, Angelini (Lobby Level, Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok, Soi Wat Suan Plu, New Road, 02-236-7777, www.shangri-la.com. Open daily 11:30am-2:30pm, 6-11pm) has unveiled a vibrant new look, complete with river views and chill-out terrace. The menu is also revamped, featuring a selection of light and healthy Mediterranean cuisine. Live entertainment and resident DJs keep you company nightly.

Let’s Meat Up

In the mood for meat? Head to Momo Paradise (7/F, CentralWorld, Ratchadamri Rd., 08-0290-9007. Open daily 11:30am-10pm) and feast till you drop on its shabu shabu and suki buffet (B399 and B449 for both shabu and suki). This Tokyo-based chain allows diners 90 minutes to stuff themselves silly on unlimited Australian beef, SPF (specific pathogen free) pork, veggies and rice. Water is free or pay B39 for all-you-can-drink soft drinks.

Twisty Thai

Though the original in Sathorn has already closed its doors, heartbroken fans can now visit the latest Patara (375 Thonglor Soi 19, 02-185-2960, www.patarathailand.com. Open daily 11:30am-2:30pm, 6-11pm) outlet for the same tasty Thai dishes. This high-end brand of S&P gives a modern twist to traditional Thai cuisine and serves it alongside French and Californian wines. Recommendations are grilled aubergine and crabmeat salad in a lime caviar vinaigrette (B220), fried honey marinated duck in pandanus leaf (B190) and roti with New Zealand lamb panaeng (B190).
