
I am my Own Wife (May 22-24)
The play festival by Bangkok University students this week stages Doug Wright's one-man play I am my Own Wife. Restaged as part of the students' thesis work, the play examines the life of a German antiquarian who as a child killed her father and withstood the Nazi years in East Berlin as a transgender.

Bent by Martin Sherman (May 23-31)
Check out the first play by Bangkok’s latest English language theater company, Peel the Limelight, premiering this Friday (May 23). Director Peter O'Neill restages the award-winning play by Martin Sherman, which tells the story of a group of homosexuals caught up in the persecution of gays in Nazi Germany.

Discussion about World Events (May 23)
The meetup group Gay Men in Bangkok arrange a discussion about world events this Friday (7pm) at Skywalk Condos. Aimed to create a thought-provoking conversation, participants are welcome to share their opinions about important world events in a respectful and supportive environment, while the host Bradley will be discussing democratic socialism. POSTPONED Seeson (May 24)
Raksak "Big" Kongseng presents a solo performance which delves into the subject of colorful human diversity through a ladyboy's perspective. Only two rounds on May 24 at 2 and 7:30pm. There will be a post-show discussion after both rounds (one and a half hours in total). Performance in Thai with English subtitles.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Jun 12-14, 19-21 and 26-28)
In exciting news for theater lovers, a new Thai production of John Cameron Mitchell’s musical-cum-movie will hit the stage this June, promising to be a "glam rock musical party." The story of Hedwig follows a rock singer who undergoes a sex change to escape from Communist-era Berlin to the American Midwest when he falls in love with a US soldier. Hedwig be performed by familiar face Chanudol Suksatit , who'll be joined by veteran actress Ratchawin Wongwiriya.
