Navin's Sala
OK, OK, I'm a bad journalist. This blog should have been up since last week. But it's just that it had been (well, and still is) a HECTIC week.
Now back to the point. Navin Rawanchaikul, a famed and prolific artist is now hosting his current and first retrospective exhibition Navin's Sala at The River Promanade (02-861-1971, Charoen Nakorn Rd., near The Peninsula Hotel).
Curated by Bangkok Art Map's editor Steven Pettifor, the exhibition fill the spacious 3-story building with a vivid collection of Navin's works which span his 15-year career. You'll get to see various styles of art works from installations to painitngs. The highlight is, of course, his renowned Taxi masterpiece. But my favorite is the grand "Lost in the City" collection, which he illustrates the modern life of Bangkok on an expansive mural.
For the video clip of Navin explaining the concept of the exhibition himself, check out http://www.artscenetv.net/ or clcik http://www.navinproduction.com.
Navin's Sala will run until Aug 10. So hurry up.
Note that the opening hours is 10am-6pm daily.
