The King of Mushrooms at Enoteca

We told you all about mushrooms in our "Mad for Mushrooms" article , and of course dished about the king of fungus--the truffle. The culinary darling, truffles are never far from reach in modern cuisine to traditional Italian, French and other European dishes. And Thailand can't get enough of this underground fungus. Italian chefs definitley have the pulse on Bangkok's gastronomical yearnings right now (read all about the upsurge of Italian cuisine here), and Enoteca is no different. This month and as long as supplies last (not that long since truffles don't come cheap folks) wrap your lips around their Italian black truffles. The Chef will be dishing out the pricey suckers in his risotto dishes and with his homemade pastas. Here's hoping they're not mere shavings.

Enoteca Italiana (39 Sukhumvit Soi 27, 02-258-4386. Open daily 6pm-midnight)
